Can You Take Ibuprofen With Low-Dose Aspirin? Timing and Interaction

Short answer: If you take low-dose aspirin for cardiovascular protection, do not add ibuprofen on your own. Ibuprofen can interfere with aspirin’s antiplatelet effect and increase gastrointestinal bleeding risk. Timing data from once-daily ibuprofen with immediate-release aspirin do not reliably cover enteric-coated aspirin or repeated doses, so keep prescribed aspirin unless told otherwise and check the exact products and timing with a clinician or pharmacist.
